The location was fantastic. I booked a Studio River View room. It was spacious and clean. The pool was nice, although I only used it once as I’m not a real pool person. Included breakfast and other meals were very nice, with lots of choices… but I only eat Thai food when in Thailand! 😂 The staff were very friendly and helpful. The availability of scooter hire at the guest house was great, although it is only a very short walk out to the street for plenty of choices of shops, restaurants and bars. I was very impressed with the accommodation and can’t believe it is only 2 stars. I would definitely stay here again!

The Guesthouse was lovely. It was situated close to the train station, just on the riverside and you could see the sunset over the river. We also had a room with the riverview that was amazing in the morning and evening. The swimming pool was amazing, it was very nice to stary there and chill on some hot days. The rooms were quite big and clean. Restaurant was quite ok, food tasty. It had a lot of European/American dishes as well as Thai ones and quite an impressive selection of vegetarian (with some vegan) dishes. Breakfest had limited choise though.

A great place to stay in Kanchanaburi in a good location for everything . Rooms are very clean and comfortable, the food here is excellent they have a great menu with international dishes available too , breakfast is free for some of the rooms with a set menu , but also have bigger breakfasts available at a good price and delicious 😋. The staff here are very friendly and make you feel like part of the family , Patrick a Thai worker here is always happy and very helpful . There is also a great swimming pool here too which is great to cool off with plenty of new sun loungers . For me this place is a home from home I won't want to leave 😄. Thanks again to all the staff at Phongphen for making this place so good 🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️.

Great location for bars, restaurants and attractions, very helpful and friendly staff, nothing any trouble to do for you. Has a great food menu. Offers a wide selection of tours to all the local landmarks. Would definitely come back.

We were worried when we turned into the alley way in the dark but our fears soon passed. we were greated by the staff and from there all went well. The meals were great and not overpriced either. Our room was comfortable and spacious. There were only 2 faults. The timber floor creaked a lot (sorry for the people below us) and the pillows were a little hard, other than that a great stay. Will recommend it to anyone.

Really nice place to chill out, lovely views of the river, very quiet with lots of nice places to sit. Breakfast was great and staff are very helpful. Room is basic, not luxury but has everything you need- mini fridge, aircon, heated shower, western toilet and comfy bed. Pool was great. Lovely walk into town if you go right at the fork and walk along the river. You'd be fine doing all your eating and drinking at the guesthouse but lots of nice places to eat and get a drink just up the road.

The room was spacious maybe a bit outdated but it had necessary amenities. The staff were so helpful and lovely and the food in the restaurant for both breakfast and lunch was nice. The area was great we were able to walk to activities nearby and taxi was very cheap anyway.

perfect for me as a solo traveller..very helpful staff ,breakfast good, location to local bars and restaurants perfect within a few minutes walk..with no street noise to keep you awake, fantastic view over the river!,,not to far from train station, walkable. taxi advisable if you have lot of luggage...train to nam tok very cheap.. and onward to Erawan Falls (dont miss it!!)
